Opportunities
The R2P Lab has opportunities for those who are interested in research and/or pursuing a PhD! We prioritize the following applicants:
- Public health students
- CASC and MSW students
- Public policy students
- Education students
The R2P student intern will participate in efforts related to implementing Promoting Conversations About Research to End Suicide (PC CARES). PC CARES is a community health intervention and builds communities of practice among local and regional service providers, community members, friends, and families to spark multilevel and sustained efforts for suicide prevention and other areas of concern identified by the community.
The student will:
- Conduct research to identify relevant and impactful topics based on community needs and feedback.
- Collaborate with project team members and community stakeholders to select and refine topics
- Assist in developing training materials and sessions for facilitators
- Design and implement data collection strategies, including surveys, interviews, and focus groups, to gather information from participants.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate the effectiveness of the learning circles and identify areas for improvement
- Engage in regular team meetings to discuss project progress, share insights, and troubleshoot challenges
- Build and maintain relationships with community members and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment
